She graduated in 2001 from the Department of History and Archaeology of the National and Kapodistrian
University of Athens. She continued her studies at the University of Leicester, where she obtained her
postgraduate degree in Museum Studies. In 2013 she completed her PhD at the National and Kapodistrian
University of Athens on “The National and Historical Museum of the Historical and Ethnological Society of
Greece: founding, collecting policy and other actions (1882-1926)”. Since 2003 until 2007 she has been
working in the postgraduate course of Museum Studies at the National and Kapodistrian University of
Athens by providing administrative support. From 2007 until 2014 she has been working in the Research
Center of Museum Studies at the same academic institution, where she had the chance to be involved in
research projects concerning the museum as an institution, its evaluation and other cultural heritage issues.
From 2014 until 2017 she has been working as a Special Teaching Staff in the Department of Geology and
Geoenvironment and from 2018 she is working at the same position in the Department of the History and
Philosophy of Science at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. From her present position she
supports with lectures the teaching of courses of Museology and Cultural Management at the Department
of History and Philosophy of Science. In addition, she organizes the course “Special Cases of Museums and
Monuments” at the Postgraduate Course of Museum Studies at the same academic institution.
Research interests are the concept of the historical museum and its purposes, war museums, the way
museums engage with their audiences, local museums and cultural policy, museums of science and
technology and university museums.
